So sorry I haven’t updated my summer travels in quite some time now. I’ve just been a busy bee, with performance after performance and the month-long tours the Joffrey Ballet has been having. I thought now, just before we hit another month-long tour, would be the perfect time to continue sharing the amazing experiences I’ve had this past summer 2012…</p> <p>As sad it was to leave my friends and family in my beloved San Francisco, I didn’t head too far away. My next stop was Los Angeles, for my colleague’s mother, Andrea Paris-Gutierrez, the artistic director of the thriving Los Angeles Ballet Academy, invited me to come take class, check out the new facilities, and observe many of her young, promising students. While in Southern California, I primarily took class with Nader Hamed at Westside School of Ballet in Santa Monica. Also, Dylan Gutierrez, fellow dancer of the Joffrey Ballet, and I were invited to perform at Youth America Grand Prix’s ‘Gala of the Stars’ in Orange County in early August.
